5 Games To Help Learn The Scout Law
The Scout Law can be a little tricky for scouts to learn. Scouts will need to memorize 12 character traits of a scout all in the correct order. These 5 games will make learning the Scout Law fun and easy.

1. Lego Stack
Supplies Needed:
Lego’s (link)
Folder Labels or White Tape (link)
How To Play:
Write one word of the Scout Law on each of the 12 legos. Place the legos in a pile and have the scouts work together to build the Scout Law.
If you have enough lego blocks, make a few sets and organize your scouts into groups and have them race to see who can build the Scout Law first.
2. Memory Game - version #1
Supplies Needed:
Our Affirmation Card Printable (link)
OR 3 x 5 Cards
Marker
How To Play:
If you are using our Scout Law Affirmation Cards print out 2 sets, cut them out and you can start playing. If not write one word of the Scout Law on each 3 x 5 card. You will need to make 2 sets.
This is the traditional Memory Game where you turn all cards face down on the table or floor. Have scouts sit in a circle around the cards. The first player will turn 2 cards over attempting to find a matching pair. If they find a matching pair they can go again, if not, play moves to the next scout in the circle. They will flip 2 cards over hoping to find a match. The game continues until all matches are gone. Whoever has the most matches, wins the game.
3. Memory Game - version #2
Supplies Needed:
Our Affirmation Card Printable (link)

How To Play:
If you are using our Scout Law Affirmation Cards print out 1 set, cut out the cards and you can start playing. If not write one word of the Scout Law on each 3 x 5 card.
In this Memory Game, you will lay out all 12 cards face up. Have the Scouts study it for a set amount of time (20-30 seconds). Have the scouts turn their backs and remove one of the cards. Have the scouts turn back around and see if they can tell which law is missing.
4. Toss Across
Supplies Needed:
Ball
How To Play:
Have scouts stand in a circle with the leader holding the ball. The leader will toss the ball to a scout, they are to name the first characteristic of the Scout Law (trustworthy). They will then toss the ball to another scout and they will say the next characteristic of the scout law (loyal). If a player messes up what is next in the scout law or drops the ball you start back over at the first characteristic of the scout law. Keep playing until you can get all 12 characteristics listed in order.
Depending on the age of your scouts you may want to adjust gameplay. You can provide help or take out the starting the game over if they drop the ball, etc.
5. Popsicle Stick Puzzle
Supplies Needed:
Popsicle Sticks (link)
Sharpie
How To Play:
Write one word of the Scout Law on each of the 12 craft sticks. Bundle them in a rubber band or baggie. Make enough sets for each of your scouts.
As an opening activity have them organize the craft sticks in the correct order.
