If you are hiking with kids it is always a good idea to be prepared and safe. Help kids take some responsibility in gathering items they will need when they go on a hike by teaching them the 6 items they should gather.

These 2 fun worksheets make a great activity for kids and they will also secretly be teaching them items needed on a hike. The ISPY Count & Color comes in 2 different versions, 1 is color coded if your child is not reading yet, and we also provide an answer key for you. The Take It Or Leave It worksheet is designed so kids can color or circle the 6 items in the picture they should pack before going hiking.

The 6 items are recommended by the Boy Scouts of America and are meant for younger kids. If you have older kids they should have a few more items but for our little ones, these are the essentials that are recommended.
